Welcome to RUSSIA

Information about RUSSIA Russia is the worlds biggest country, but it remains largely ‘a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma', as it was once described. This might be because it is so big and diverse, it would be almost impossible to cram everything into a single description. Russia’s history has been, by turns, majestic, traumatic, glorious and catastrophic. But with countless cultural treasures having withstood the tribulations of history and economics, and an artistic legacy running the gamut from Karenina to Zhivago, Russia remains a must-see destination. Russia's myriad ethnic groups collectively form a rich cultural stew, one that has added much flavour to the country's spiritual life There are over 140 state nature reserves in Russia, from the southern Steppes and passing through several environmental bands to the Arctic North and Siberia. The northern forests hide reindeer, wolves and brown bears. The mixed deciduous and coniferous forests are home to deer, lynx and the Siberian tiger. The black earth steppes are the grain basket of Asia. Snow leopards, cheetahs, porcupines, gazelles, wild goats and the chamois grace the deserts of Central Asia.
